This policy explains what information GENNOW collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, the grant application, the funder inquiry, and the GENNOW portal.
A note on this document. GENNOW is a matchmaking platform that connects funders with youth-serving nonprofits. We are not a fund holder and do not collect, hold, or transmit grant funds. This policy is provided in plain language and is a template that should be reviewed by your own counsel before being relied upon for a live service.
We collect information you provide directly and a limited amount of information automatically:
We use the information above to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your application content for advertising.
GENNOW does not collect, hold, escrow, or transmit grant funds. When a grantee accepts an award, we collect the bank or mailing details needed for the matched funder to pay the grantee directly, and we share those details only with that funder, only for that purpose, and only with your authorization. Please do not enter bank account or routing numbers anywhere on the platform except the secure award-acceptance step. We ask applicants not to include account or routing numbers in uploaded documents.
We keep account and grant records for as long as needed to operate the service, meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations, and document completed matches. Supporting documents uploaded for an application are used to review that application and are not retained long-term beyond what is needed for verification and recordkeeping. You may ask us to delete information that we are not required to keep (see Section 8).
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@gennowfund.org.
The site uses your browser’s local storage to remember your session, your portal role, and the state of your dashboard so the experience is consistent when you return. We use only the cookies and storage needed to run the service; we do not use third-party advertising trackers. You can clear local storage in your browser at any time, which will sign you out and reset the demo state.
You may review and update your account information at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, email privacy@gennowfund.org and we will respond consistent with applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
GENNOW serves organizations that work with young people, but our service is intended for use by those organizations and funders, not by children directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the platform. Nonprofits should not upload identifiable information about individual minors (names, images, or records) without the appropriate consent of a parent or guardian. Any youth work product or likeness remains the property of the organization and the young people it serves.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Questions about this policy or your information can go to:
