For funders

Funder FAQ.

GENNOW is the operating system small nonprofits use to become fundable. For funders, it stays deliberately simple: post opportunities, and connect with the organizations that fit.

Is GENNOW a grant fund or a foundation?
No. GENNOW does not collect, hold, or distribute money, and it is not a matchmaking intermediary. It is software that nonprofits use to get organized and fundable. Funders post opportunities; organizations apply and connect with you directly.
How do we fund organizations through GENNOW?
Create a simple funder profile, post your funding opportunity to the Marketplace, and interested nonprofits reach out. You review basic organization profiles and connect on your own terms. All funding happens directly between you and the organization.
Does it cost funders anything?
Funder accounts are free to start. GENNOW is built and paid for by the nonprofits who use it to become fundable, there are no portfolios, commitments, or per-match fees for funders.
Do you score or rank applicants for us?
No. We deliberately do not build review committees, scoring workflows, or award-management systems. You decide who to fund. GENNOW simply helps the right organizations find and reach you.
Can we stay anonymous or low-profile?
Yes. A visibility setting lets you show your organization on opportunities or keep a lighter profile. Either way, nonprofits can see and apply to the opportunity itself.
What kinds of organizations are on GENNOW?
Small and community-based nonprofits across every mission area, youth, education, health, housing, workforce, arts, human services, and more. GENNOW is sector-agnostic, so you can focus on the issue areas you care about.
What information can we see about an organization?
A basic organization profile, mission, programs, issue areas, geography, and readiness, so you understand who is reaching out before you connect.
